Inspiration Wednesday | Patience is Bitter

WORDS OF WISDOM

‘Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet.’

– Aristotle

GRAPES | ÜZÜM

With over six hundred indigenous varieties of grapes, Turkey is the world’s fourth largest producer. In season from June to October, every part of the grape plant is utilized; leaves are stuffed, the fruit is eaten fresh or dried and the juice is used for wine. In fact, Turkey may be the birthplace of wine. The Bible describes Noah accidentally discovering the art of fermenting grapes soon after his ark landed on Mount Ararat in Turkey. Sarma, stuffed grape leaves, are a common and traditional dish.
